PROJECTS
The five qualities are persistence, inquiry, creativity, communication, and collaboration. We use these qualities daily in our work. We also use these because they explain what we do in STEM and what kind of learning we do. Here at STEM we have PBL or project based learning where we use projects to help us visualize what we are learning about and we use the 5 qualities in these projects. The definitions for these qualities can be found below.
Persistence
Persistence- Ideal graduates of DRSS have the endurance and motivation to overcome countless challenges, and are undeterred by failure, remaining dedicated and enthusiastic. They have the discipline and resourcefulness to be dependable to those around them, and reliably complete the task at hand.
Inquiry
Inquiry- is accepting your lack of knowledge and advocating for yourself to dig underneath the surface in pursuit of answers. The ideal grad asks not just “how” but “why” and thinks critically.
Creativity
Creativity- Creativity is pushing the boundaries, being an innovative and diverse thinker, yet still being adaptable to changing ideas.
Communication
Communication- Communication is politely, honestly, and confidently expressing your ideas with an audience, while also actively listening to and considering the ideas of others.
Collaboration
Collaboration- Collaboration is consolidating a group of people toward the completion of a common goal. Good collaborators utilize communication effectively to find solutions to a problem.
